What did he do wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he didnt move the decimal point over correctly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he only moved it 2 spaces over instead of 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one last thing how would i Identify and correct Sam's mistake.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uh by finishing moving the decimal points over 2 more? he only did it for one number, but he forgot to do it for both numbers

OpenStudy (watchmath):

you need to use your common sense as your helper. Here we multiply two numbers. One is approximately 12 and the other is less than 1. So the product should be smaller than 12.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh duh sorry mates

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are a total of 4 decimal places so you should move the decimal to the left 2 more places.
