MEDAL! For questions 1 – 2, answer the questions about circles. (Picture below)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if h,k is centre , equation of circle is (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2 , where r is radius and x&y are a point on circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

using this , tell me ur answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(0-h)^2 + (0-k)^2 = 3^2?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

wrong way :) (h, k) should be the center point of the circle when the equation is (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oops! Would this be right? (x-0)^2 + (y-0)^2 = 3^2

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright! Thanks for the help and patience (:

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

now you know how to answer the second one as well? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would the second be (x-2)^2 + (y+3)^2 = 2^2?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yes :) and the 2^2 part can be simplified to 4 and the 3^2 to 9 of course

Thanks so much!
