Write the sum using summation notation, assuming the suggested pattern continues. -1 + 2 + 5 + 8 + ... + 44

use the summation symbol:\[\sum_{}^{}\] and start at -1 and add 3 each time up to 44... I'll let you figure you the exact equation.
