What would happen if you put a potato cube in a cup with sucrose in it?

so to be specific solvent moves from low conc of soln to high conc...so if u have sucrose outside...what do u think would happen?

no...see..here sucrose is the solute...solute does not move..solvent moves...

I'm kind of confused. I see what you are saying but what would happen to the potato? If it does not get larger does it get smaller or stay the same size? By the way thank you so much for your help. :)

yes it gets smaller..see sucrose high outside..so higher conc outside..so movement of solvent from inside to outside...
