Randy spins spinner 1 and then spins spinner 2. Determine the sample space for the experiment. A. {A1, B2, C3} B. {A1, A4, B1, B4, C3, C2} C. {A1, A2, A3, A4, B1, B2, B3, B4, C1, C2, C3, C4} D. {A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, C3}http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/332000_332500/332447/1/135ef55571b76ebfee86f5084f9979f51bfd408f/MS_ALG_A2_03_quiz_Q1_question.gif

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It depends on what's on the spinners...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the sample space means a list of every possible outcome that could happen as result of doing whatever it is you're doing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm explaining it. What are all the possible outcomes for spinner 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A,B and C right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you still there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you know that I said A,B or C right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I saw. Ok, so, now, what are all the possible outcomes of spinner 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

R u still there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so what were the outcomes that you figured out ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was asking you. :P What are all the possible outcomes of spinner 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

????..... no idea ...:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh spinner 2....1,2,3,4 ...right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes you did. You answered correctly for spinner 1. Just look at spinner 2 and tell me everything that can come up. Yes, exactly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what is the sample space?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We're getting to that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like I explained above, the sample space is every possible outcome that could happen.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer would be...just a sec.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c or d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right. Is it possible to spin an A on spinner 1 and a 4 on spinner 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sooooooo .....which 1 is the final answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not going to just tell you the answer. If you want to figure this out yourself, I'll help you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I've already figured out that it has to be A or C.If I say something that is correct just type "correct" Okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you still there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It tells me when you've posted. Don't worry. I'm still paying attention.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was correct by saying A or C right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, so far so good.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So now I have to chose between the 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or just guess randomly. But it's probably better if you figure out the right answer, yes. :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is A!If I am correct type "correct". If I am incorrect Put a capital X

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, that pretty much tells you the answer. So before that tell me why you think A is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because it tells you all of the possible answers and you told me sample space was all of the possible answers.:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean all of the possible OUTCOMES. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But it doesn't tell you all the possible answers. What if I spin A4? Or B1? Or C4? None of those are listed in A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Outcomes! You made me do it too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh my mistake I wasn't looking at the answers right! :P I thinks it's C .THAT has all of the possible outcomes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yay! I got it right!!!! :)
