two parallel current carrying wire attract each other whereas two parallel beam of electrons moving repel each other .but moving electrons means flow of current.why

I havent read something like this but i would guess if it were it would be caused by the magnetic fields genereted

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In the case of the electron beam the electrons experience both an coulomb force of the charge as well as a magnetic force of the motion of the electrons. The coulomb force is stronger so the beams repel. In the case of the wires the electrons are contained in a metal structure that shields them from the coulomb force leaving only the magnetic force to act.
