Any help ? please. Simplify the expression. (3+2i)(4-i)
FOIL.
Do you know it?
Also ya need to know that i^2=-1
yttrium, can please you show me step by step ?
We have (3+2i)(4-i) FOIL is method we are using to expand binomials. It means First terms, Outer Terms, Inner Terms and Last terms. Applying that we will have: (3*4)+(3*(-i))+(2i*4)+(2i*(-i)) Which is equal to: 12-3i+8i-2i^2 (and we know that fact that i^2 = -1) Hence, 12+5i-2(-1) 12+5i+2 14+5i --> Final answer.
Just tell me if you still don't get what FOIL method is.
using wolframalpha, you were right Yttrium :D
14 + 5i is (3+2i)(4-i) simplified ^_^
Thank you so much! I kinda understand the foil method, it's just im a bit confused in this one! but now i got it !
You sure?
Can you help me with one more ?
and char what is that, that you use ?
Of course. But I think you better post it as a new question. So we don't need to scroll longer.
