Parallelogram FGHI on the coordinate plane below represents the drawing of a horse trail through a local park.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In order to build a scale model of the trail, the drawing is enlarged on the coordinate plane. If two corners of the trail are at point A (0, 4) and point D (-6, -5), what is another point that could represent a corner of the trail?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Select one: a. (4, 4) b. (11, 4) c. (6, -5) d. (-17, -5)

@ganeshie8 @Directrix

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8 @Directrix i need ur help please ill give out medals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no there is no point D on the grid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you guessing

Directrix (directrix):

Look at this: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/4f638edce4b079c5c631db9c @Mr.NiceGuy27 Why C? How do you know.

Directrix (directrix):

We need @campbell_st

hes offline

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i only know one person in openstudy with a smartscore of 100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it hard to get to 100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll help, I just did this kind of stuff.

Directrix (directrix):

@Edge This person says for your problem: >>the answer is C 100% sure... I got the square root of 117 but did not realize the 1:3 ratio. This explanation is plausible: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/4fa01b77e4b029e9dc311d4f

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the answer s C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just makin sure

Directrix (directrix):

If I were doing this homework, that is what I could submit as my answer. I cannot say that I am 100% sure that it is correct. I would go with 98% sure. @LadyKatsaTheGraceling who posted "I'll help, I just did this kind of stuff." Help us out here. Do you think C is the correct answer for the reasons given in the posted thread http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/4fa01b77e4b029e9dc311d4f

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets get @ganeshie8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I get C by comparing the ratio of the distance between the original points to the distance of the given 2 new points. 6, -5 is the more logical answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C seems pretty reasonable to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so @Directrix should I choose C

Directrix (directrix):

If I had to choose now at this very moment, I would choose C. Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I hope its correct

Directrix (directrix):

@Edge I will be disappointed if C is not correct, too. I had hoped that our helpers who posted here would have been more analytical in explaining why they chose the answers they did.

Directrix (directrix):

I'll look for @@campbell_st later today to ask about this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
