What is radical 12a^4 divided by radical 4a? I got a radical 3a, but the answer is supposed to be radical 3a. can someone explain what i did wrong?

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

You got radical 3a and the answer is radical 3a....so what's the difference?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got \[a \sqrt{3a}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because a^3 can be simplified to a^2 and a and a^2 is a perfect sq so thats how i got that
