Geometry help please? If A=(8,2) B=(11,13) and C=(2,6), classify the following triangle as either right or isosceles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Isosceles

OpenStudy (savannah_noelle):

Can you explain please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just find the distance between every point

OpenStudy (savannah_noelle):

@divu.mkr I really don't understand, can you please show me an example?

OpenStudy (azureilai):

The distance formula is \[d=\sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2}+(y _{2}-y_{1})^{2}}\] So what you can do is \[d=\sqrt{(2-8)^{2}+(6-2)^{2}}\] And that would be the distance between point A and C. you applay the distance two times to the other points, (A and B, and B and C) and once you find the distance beween each sides, then you can determine what type of triangle it is.
