Match the inequality with the solution: 2z + 6(z + 3) < 10 A) z > -1 B) z > 1 C) z < -1 D) z < 1 How to solve!?

OpenStudy (ranga):

2z + 6(z + 3) < 10 2z + 6z + 18 < 10 8z + 18 < 10 Can you subtract 18 from both sides and tell me what you get?

OpenStudy (ranga):

Continuing with my first reply, If you subtract 18 from both sides you get: 8z < -8 Divide both sides by 8 z < -1

Thank you ranga for doing it step by step, I understand it now. :)
