is the simplist form of (9x^2+9)/(2x+2) is (9x/2)? It was one of my hw questions but I wasn't sure if i did it right.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf \cfrac{9x^2+9}{2x+2}\qquad \textit{getting common factors}\\ \quad \\ \cfrac{9(x^2+1)}{2(x+1)}\qquad \textit{recall that }\quad a^2-b^2 = (a-b)(a+b)\\ \quad \\ \cfrac{9(x^2+1)}{2(x+1)}\implies \cfrac{9(x^2+1^2)}{2(x+1)}\implies \cfrac{9\cancel{(x+1)}(x-1)}{2\cancel{(x+1)}}\)

OpenStudy (azureilai):

I see, thank you
