Reasons Brutus may be a patriot:
- he was looking to the best interest of rome
- he thought J.C. would become a dictator and ultimately lead to the fall of Rome
- he believed J.C. was too ambitious for his own good
Reasons Brutus is a betrayer
- J.C. was his best friend
- He collaborated with people whose interest was not what best for rome

I just gave you counterclaims, if you chose to write himoff as a patriot, then use the betrayer argument as counterclaims vice versa
