Could someone please help me with this question? http://i.imgur.com/YYzGvwF.jpg

hartnn (hartnn):

x= 35 is correct :) now since those 2 angles are equal, 2x = 3x+y put x= 35 here to find y

OpenStudy (sepeario):

@hartnn isn't y negative?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, absolutely, you get 'y' from that you will surely get it as negative :)

hartnn (hartnn):

2x = 3x+y subtract 2x from both sides, what u get ?

OpenStudy (sepeario):

y = -70 @hartnn

hartnn (hartnn):

no...

hartnn (hartnn):

2x = 3x +y so, 2x-2x = 3x-2x +y so, 0=x+y and x = 35 so, 0 =35+y so, y= 035 got this ?

OpenStudy (sepeario):

but isn't that just the same as x? @hartnn

OpenStudy (sepeario):

yeah y is -35

hartnn (hartnn):

oops, i mistyped it 0=35 +y gives y=-35 , yes :)

hartnn (hartnn):

any more doubts ?
