hiya @Synthia

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello

OpenStudy (jack1):

so "lateral area... "is that the outside surface area? or just outside area that doesnt include base?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it includes half the base I think

OpenStudy (jack1):

im... not so sure... but ok, so lets just work out the whole surface area, and u can see which one fits at the end?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

L.A. = 1/2 pl thats what it wants

OpenStudy (jack1):

sweet, so the base by itself is a square, so 2x2 = 4 ...meters, kilometers, square feet, whatever ur units are really

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 3 sqrt(10)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it was partially correct

OpenStudy (jack1):

so 1/2 x perimeter x slant length = L Surface area? so slant length = sqrt (3^2 + 1^2) = sqrt 10 so L. SA = 1/2 x 2+2+2+2 x sqrt 10 = 4 x sqrt 10 = 12.65 ish

OpenStudy (jack1):

OpenStudy (jack1):

is that how u did it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yah but some how i got 10 and needed to make it fit to _sqrt_ _

OpenStudy (jack1):

|dw:1382349520160:dw|

OpenStudy (jack1):

so sqrt 10 is correct then ur perimeter: = 8 so 1/2 x 8 x sqrt 10 = 4 x sqrt 10

OpenStudy (jack1):

so i think we've got it, yeah?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes! thank you :))

OpenStudy (jack1):

sweet, no worries hey, slaters !
