he sum of two consecutive odd integers is 28. What are the integers? Which let statement(s) would you use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let n = an integer. two consecutive odd integers would then take the form (2n-1), (2n+1) because we know any integer multiplied by 2 is even 2n mod 2 = 0 and any even integer ±1 is odd (2n ± 1) mod 2 ≠ 0 so solve, (2n-1)+(2n-1)=28

(2n mod 2 here means that 2 divides 2n evenly. there is no remainder. and there is always a remainder when we divide 2n±1 by 2 (it is 1))
