x = 90 degrees becuase you have an isosceles triangle. In an isosceles triangle, the angle bisector is pependicular to the base of the triangle. It can easily be shown that triangle ACD is congruent to triangle ABD by SAS, and therefore angle ADC and ADB are congruent, so they both must be 90 degrees.
