You're comparing two characters. >>> http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/frome/characters.html You need a character list. You're welcome. This will take literally 10 minutes.
im not comparing the characters. im comparing the 2 accidents. and im only asking for help because the worst part of my essays is always my thesis.
Read the character's synopsis
y cant u help me? i thought this was a site were ppl HELP each other
If we wrote your thesis for you, that would be plagiarism..
Your thesis is just what you are going to be talking about in your body paragraphs and your viewpoint on it.
@shamil98 id never copy word for word. i just need a losely constructed thesis to add a whole bunch of detail to
Who are Ned and Ruth? I didn't read about that. Here is what I got >Ethan and Maddie were lovers >They loved each other, but didn't want to leave >Maddie proposed a double-suicide (Like, in Romeo and Juliet) >Ethan rejected, but Maddie kept seducing him per say (Like Adam and Eve) >Eventually, they agreed, to end it all, out of love and happiness >The tragic ending was that, Ethan died, and Maddie stayed alive >The starstruck lovers separated >Ethan's wife never fired Maddie - they lived together and grew old >Two women loved the same man, and in the end, will both, too, die together.
your pretty much right @Compassionate except for the fact that Ethan becomes an injured cripple who is able to still do simple work around the farm. And mattie has to be nurtured by Zeena.
Ethan died. >Together, they mourn the tragic plight of the silent, cursed man and the two women fated to keep him company during the long New England winter nights.
Ethan did not die. I no that as a fact.
Well - the synopsis made it sound like he did. You can handle it form here.
You are writing a thesis for a paper that compares the two. Just say something along the lines like: Along the lines of many tragedies that occur, suicide is one of the worst, especially in the case of Ethan and Maddie, and Ned and Ruth, whose attempts at suicide were horrific and held many tragic similarities.
@Compassionate this is from sparknotes, its from the conlclusion Thus, everything comes full circle, and the cyclical nature of life on the farm is embodied in the terrible fate of Ethan and the women. Instead of finding escape in suicide, he and Mattie have ended up in a state of living death, in which all Mattie’s vitality has been leeched away, and she has transformed into a carbon copy of her former opposite, Zeena. Zeena herself, appropriately enough, has been restored to greater health by the necessity of caring for her disabled husband and cousin—as if she can be healthy only when others suffer.
You sound literature enough. You should be able to compare this yourself. I don't even know why you would need help with this. It's extremely easy for someone if your caliber.
I haven't read these stories so yeah ..
@shamil98 arent u supposed to list at least 3 topics in a thesis?
I don't know the similarities, so it's incomplete.
One of them is how they both used sleds?
but for a general thesis format dont u need 3 topics at least?
good luck.
@shamil98 if u can wait like 5-7mins for me to finish the thesis can u give me ur opinoin on it? u dont have to have read the novella. u shud atleast be able to give an opinon based on how its formatted?
okay
Shamil, give me a medal real fast.
ok o.o
@shamil98 here it is. what do u think? what do you think of this Suicide is one of the worst tradegies that occur, especially in Ethan and Matties case whose suicide attempt ended horrificly, induced by jealously of Ned and Ruth's perfect relationship causes Ethan to not think, the abuse Ethan has suffered from his wife being the trigger for Ethan to go along with Matties suicidal ideaolgy in the end, and Mattie finally snapping after being abandoned by her only family, Zeena.
Ruth's perfect relationship caused* Ethan to not think, the abuse Ethan suffered* (delete has) from his wife became the trigger for Ethan to go along with Matties suicidal ideaolgy. ( delete in the end) its a run on.. your tense is incorrect as well
@shamil98 can you help me?! :)
what is wrong with the tense?
Mattie finally snapping? proofread your thesis.
here is the revised one with ur correction @shamil98 Suicide is one of the worst tragedies that occur, especially in Ethan and Mattie’s case whose suicide attempt ended horrifically, induced by jealously of Ned and Ruth's perfect relationship caused Ethan to not think, the abuse Ethan suffered from his wife became the trigger for Ethan to have gone along with Mattie’s suicidal ideology, and Mattie finally snapping after being abandoned by her only family, Zeena. also what can i replace with "to not think"?
and i fixed the last line to match the tense
caused Ethan to act irrationally and out of depression
@shamil98 dude. u r the best. thank u so much. *highfive* hopefully we can be friends and help peer edit each other or something in the future?
became the trigger for Ethan to have gone along with Mattie’s suicidal ideology, became the trigger that resulted in Ethan complying with Mattie's suicidal ideology. Mattie became suicidal after she was abandoned by the last of her family, Zeena. Suicide is one of the worst tragedies that occur, especially in Ethan and Mattie’s case whose suicide attempt ended horrifically. Induced by jealously of Ned and Ruth's perfect relationship caused Ethan to think irrationally and out of depression. The abuse Ethan suffered from his wife became the trigger that resulted in Ethan complying with Mattie's suicidal ideology. Mattie, Ethan's partner in the suicidal mission, became suicidal after she was abandoned by the last of her family, Zeena.
