In a first draft of an essay that I submitted for editing, what would my spanish professor mean by writing the word "possessive" with an arrow pointing to the word "la" in the sentence "En la niñez, el hijo fue enseñado...?" I am handing in the final draft tomorrow.

I'm not sure but it might mean the "la" should not be or should be possessive. Like a possessive noun or proverb. Does this makes sense?
