The sequence is called an arithmetic sequence. It has a common difference, d, of 4, because 10-6 = 4 or 18-14 = 4 So the general term of the sequence is given by a+(n-1)d where a = first term d = difference In this problem, the general term is 6 + (n-1)4 or 6+ 4n-4 or 4n+ 2.
