Graph y=4x explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay the best way to understand this is to pick ANY value for x that you want, and then see what it's corresponding y partner must be for example: let's say x = 0, then y = 4 * (0), so y = 0. and you get the ordered pair (0,0) let's say x = 1, then y = 4 * (1), so y = 4. and you get the ordered pair (1,4) you can keep finding all these points on the line y = 4x to define the line in an xy plane

since it is already in slope intercept form, the y-intercept would be 0 so you'd put a point on 0. The slope is 4 over 1 so go up 4 units and over 1 to the right. Keep doing that until you can draw the line.
