The water in Conception Bay is moving 90º South of East(ie. South) at 4.8 km/h. The ferry making the crossing to Bell Island is heading 0º North of East(ie. east) at a speed of 20.3 km/h. Using a coordinate system where East is positive x and North is positive y, find the velocity of the boat relative to the ground. ___x + ___ y What is the magnitude of the velocity of the boat relative to the ground? What is the angle the velocity vector makes relative to East? What is the speed of the boat relative to the ground?
