Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him), Started preaching Islam after he received the the revelation from angel Jebril today know as the Quran  and when His companions heard it they started accepting Islam and  Islam slowly started spreading throughout Arabia

Muhammad was meditating in a cave outside of Mecca when he heard the voice of Gabriel, and he decided he was one of the last of the prophets. When he wasn't pleased with things happening around him, he began to preach Islam, preaching peace, justice, and charity.
