What effects did the Great Depression have on the U.S. economy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There were no jobs in the cities and the people stood in soup lines for food. People who lived on the farms and could grow their food did okay. Monsanto has tried to mess up our seed generically and the small farmers have been pushed out. A Great Depression today will come if people are not put back to work and if the dollar keeps diminishing. Wall Street is held up by fraud and it is not an economic indicator. The jobless is a great economic indicator and you can't judge the jobless by those on unemployment. Some can no longer get unemployment and they are still jobless. The Middle Class Society is diminishing and the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. Our government takes every bribe sent their way to better themselves and Washington must change. The stripping of Washington must begin with the Congressmen and the Senator's salaries and benefits. The stripping of America has begun by the stripping of salaries and benefits because there are no jobs.

Thanks!(:

True that.

Looks like my lengthy reply didn't get posted.

"The stripping of Washington must begin with the Congressmen and the Senator's salaries and benefits. The stripping of America has begun by the stripping of salaries and benefits because there are no jobs." Disagree with that part. If we can weed out the crooks, we should pay our public servants well, just as the working class deserves to be compensated appropriately, which they aren't.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well ok im not much into that stuff.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyways thanks:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should be. Isn't that the point of getting an education? Being informed and making good decisions over who you vote for is a duty that few people take seriously.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK sorry, i'm not even old enough to vote!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh. No problem. Just doing some studying for High School? Are the classes very interesting?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yess sometimes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Glad to hear that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hehe.ur welcome!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Any topics you want to talk about. If you discuss something with someone, it helps you understand and remember it better.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
