.40n + 8.40 = 10
.40n = 10 - 8.40
.40n = 1.60
n = 1.60/.40
n = 4

d = n + 9
d = 4 + 9
d = 13

q = d + 21
q = 13 + 21
q = 34

.10(13) + .05(4) + .25(34) = 10
1.30 + .20 + 8.50 = 10
