I don't even know what you are supposed to do to find a critical number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

critical numbers if i remember right are numbers that would make the function = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think so.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so for the first one it would be 0 and 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do you find that though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait 0^2(3-3)=0 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well 0 times anything is zero so 0^2 = 0 and 3 -3 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no there are who domains that will equate to zero so 0^2(0-3) and 3^2(3-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I think so. So to find the critical numbers I just have to find what makes the equation equal zero.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So for the second one I thought that the critical number would be 4 but it says that the number is less than 3. So the critical number would be 0 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

will since you domain is everything less then 3 you dont answer 4 hence the only answer is 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so do you understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I understand now. Thank you!
