this

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

plug in the numbers and simplify

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

2b+c/1-a a=3 b=6 c=1 2(6)+1/1-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12/-2 thats what i got you need to simplify

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

^That's wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry i was taught how to do it that way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be positive 6

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

12+1/1-3 13/-2 you can't have a negative in the denominator so you have to multiply top and bottom by -1 you would get -13/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i see thank you

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

BUT -13/2 is not an answer choice so somewhere they messed up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because 1 - a which is 3 is 2 2b is 2 times 6 which is 12 divided by 1 makes it still 12 and u divide it and it would be 6

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

how is it 6? 2(6)+1/1-3 2*6 = 12 12+1=13 13/1-3 13/-2

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

if a is 3 1-3 would be NEGATIVE 2 that's just the denominator. the numerator is 2b+c b=6 c=1 2*6 = 12 12+1 = 13 13/-2

@agent0smith

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is a link at the top tht says ols may u check to see if its 6

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

is the symbol in between 2b and c a plus sign or a divide sign?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

put up a clearer pic.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

^agreed
