Which of the following is proper notation to describe the set of all letters in the alphabet? {a, b, c . . . z} (a, b, c, etc.) a through z none of the above

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

any ideas?

the first one?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

very good

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you need curly braces to denote a set and saying "a, b, c, ..., z" is enough to imply that you mean "every letter of the alphabet" and you don't have to actually list each letter out

you're welcome
