Which set of ordered pairs does NOT represent a function? The set of the ordered pairs twenty comma ten, ten comma twenty, negative twenty comma negative ten, and negative ten comma negative twenty. The set of the ordered pairs fourteen comma twelve, ten comma eight, six comma four, and two comma zero. The set of the ordered pairs negative seven comma negative five, negative six comma negative three, negative five comma negative one, and negative four comma one. The set of the ordered pairs zero comma negative one, five comma negative two, ten comma negative three, and fifteen comm

OpenStudy (arbyj):

All of them represent functions because x doesn't repeat

OpenStudy (ttp):

A. (20,10), (10,20), (-20,-10), (-10,-20) B. (14,12) ,(10,8), (6,4), (2,0) C. (-7,-5), -6,-3) (-5,-1), (-4,-1) D. (0,-1) (5,-2) (10,-3), (15,-3)

OpenStudy (ttp):

There are the answer choices. @arbyj

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anything that has two of the same x's is not a function because in a function there must be only one x to every y A. (20,10) (10,20) (-20,-10) (-10,-20) B. (14,12) (10,8) (6,4) (2,0) C. (-7,-5), (-6,-3) (-5,-1), (-4,-1) D. (0,-1) (5,-2) (10,-3), (15,-3) as you can see, none of the x's repeat are you sure that these are all the choices?

OpenStudy (ttp):

Yea those are all the choices :/

OpenStudy (ttp):

Accept for D. instead of (15,-3) it's (15,-2)

OpenStudy (arbyj):

Does it go in (x, y) or (y, x) order? If it's in (y, x) then it would be C

OpenStudy (ttp):

I was thinking maybe it was d? lol idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. (20,10) (10,20) (-20,-10) (-10,-20) B. (14,12) (10,8) (6,4) (2,0) C. (-7,-5), (-6,-3) (-5,-1), (-4,1) D. (0,-1) (5,-2) (10,-3), (15,-2) check every number^ is this exactly how it is?

OpenStudy (ttp):

Yes that's exactly how it is :)

OpenStudy (ttp):

So what is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there's a typo in your question or something because with the info you provided, these are all definite functions

OpenStudy (arbyj):

Yeah^ If it was like this; A. (20,10), (10,20), (-20,-10), (-10,-20) B. (14,12) ,(10,8), (6,4), (2,0) C. (-7,-5), -6,-3) (-5,-1), (-4,-1) D. (0,-1) (5,-2) (10,-3), (15,-2) it would be C if it was in (y, x) order, check with your teacher tomorrow
