Two caterpillars, Sally and Annoe, we're crawling up a large oak tree. Annie crawled 4 inches per hour faster than Sally. They both crawled for 2 hours and covered a total distance of 25 inches. Find Sally and Annie's rates. Set up and solve algebraically.

so lets say Sally speed was v
and hence Annie speed was v+4

so the distance Sally covered is v*2
and the distance Annie covered is (v+4)*2

the total distance is 25 so:

2v + 2(v+4) = 25
