Study Island questions.. need help explaining please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just these two, I'm confused :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the first one. if you look at the figure and actually connect the dots...u can tell the only figure she can draw is a 6-sided polygon, or A, an hexagon. she can also draw an equilateral triangle and a rectangle, but those aren't in the answer choices...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the second one. im not sure as i did geometry 9000 years ago but im guessing its D, as the side angle side theorem makes sense there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WOW why didn't I think of that?? thank you @11calcBC so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol no problem

OpenStudy (cggurumanjunath):

i say it c for 2nd figure ! can u explain why it is d @11calcBC ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well to prove the side angle side, u have to have a congruent angle between 2 congruent sides. in this case, the side RT is already given as they both share it. and angle VTR and angle SRT are both right angles. now all we're missing is a side, which is RS and VT

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i guess C works too huh? lol

OpenStudy (cggurumanjunath):

c,because it is given as vr is parallel to st hence vr=st

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mhmm...wouldnt angel VTR be congruent to SRT?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WTF is with study island so there are 2 answers that could both work for this? or which one are you deciding on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i would just go with CGGURUMANJUNATH's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wut do u think jcari?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they both share RT, so that's one side. and then we have the angle because they're both right angles. the last side left would either be TV and RS (D) or VR and ST (C)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk...the right angels arent rly proven..so C might be the one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TV and RS include the angles, so VR and ST would be completely sides not including the angle part, so i might say C. idk or maybe both answers come out correct lol. i'll try C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you! @CGGURUMANJUNATH @11calcBC

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D np

OpenStudy (cggurumanjunath):

@jcari so what is the final answer c or d .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm going with C

OpenStudy (cggurumanjunath):

very good.

OpenStudy (cggurumanjunath):

is it a quiz you are solving ? @jcari

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea Study Island /: just practice stuff but I wanted to know what I was doing lol
