awww man! ... @hartnn , I wanted to explain that you had to pass a series of tests and quizzes, then it was a battle royale to cull down the herd to the very best ;D
or maybe you have to do like an Iron Chef type face off with your choice of a current moderator, and the winner keeps the title ;D

those were just formal answers,
you actually need to fight a sumo wrestler and the only weapon you get is a 'needle'.
i somehow managed to spin a sumo wrestler on my last finger. 
thats how i really became a moderator.
