f(x)=x^2+x determine if the function is odd, negative, or neither

OpenStudy (linknissan):

odd function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain to me please? I don't get how you get - x from it ...

OpenStudy (linknissan):

for even function.. replave x by -x.. for eg..x^2 and (-x)^2 is the same so it is a even function

OpenStudy (linknissan):

x^3.. replace x by -x.. hence its -x^3.. hence its odd

OpenStudy (linknissan):

now look at yyour prob statement..x^2 is even..but x is odd...even+odd=odd...hence ur prob is odd!!!

OpenStudy (linknissan):

whrere you see x...replace it by -x..if the equations turn out to b the given equation after replacemnt.. then its is even..else its odd!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on the top you said x^2 is odd and then you said it was even

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x)=x^2+x would that be -x +x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its odd?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u help me with a function f(x)?
