This is probably really stupid but people keep messaging me with guinea pig help and it's frequent enough I just want a post to apply everything about guinea pigs so I can just refer people to the link so if it's ok this is a guinea pig help post :P

Guinea pig can and cannot eats

CAN-Grass, most veggies, most fruits, grass, dirt, roses, dandelions, and guinea pig poop

NOT- mushrooms, various veggies/fruits(look up each piece before giving it to your guinea pig),leaves, any other plants not listed above, dairy, meat, and nuts/beans

My guinea pig's personal favorites- carrots, dandelions, roses, cucumber,grass, and radishes

Guinea pigs should HAVE UNLIMITED HAY EVERYDAY and should be able to run around your room or a large area for at least an hour a day (I just leave my cage open all day unless I'm out, and he runs around)

If you are worried about him pooping, it's ok. They are naturally enclined to poop in their cage. If they still do, just block that area off.

Chewing on your cords? Tell him a firm, loud, NO and slap a book or hand enar him on the floor. Eventually he will learn No means dont chew on it. (he might chew on a different side, just no again)

Chewing on your homework? Paper/cardboard is good for their teeth and slightly good for them. pick it up and make cardboard tunnels filled with hay for him to run/chew through!

Scared to take your guinea pig outside?

If your guinea pig knows you, comes when it's called (mostly) and isn't scared of you
then it is safe to take them outside! They won't run away if you keep them near you. They will run onto your lap and shiver if scared. Even if it wanders off a few feet, it will run back to you when noticed. Just make sure it doesn't eat anything poisonous!!

It can boost up their happiness, although they won't popcorn! (too scary outside)
JUST MAKE SURE TO KEEP AN EYE ON THEM AT ALL TIMES, BIRDS LIKE TO EAT GUINEA PIGS

tips-
Yank up a lot of grass and bury your guinea pig in them! they like chewing their way out of grass cages! just keep a breathing hole open (:

Don't feed guinea pigs those yogurt treats or fancy poptarts you see at walmart. They are UNHEALTHY, even if your guinea pig LOVES them! Veggies are enough, but if you absolutely want them, only give them a treat every few days.

GuineaPig treats for summer- take his favorite veggie/fruit (mine likes cucumber) and fill an icecube tray half way with water and halfway with chopped up cucumber. Freeze it, and feed to your guinea pig :D

You can also put cucumber/strawberry slices in his water bottle along with water for a slightly new drink :D -refill and wash after a few hours so it doesn't get icky.

DIY guinea Pig Toys

Take toilet paper rolls and stuff with hay, thecardboard is 100% safe for guinea pigs.

Aaaah. So that is how it works with daughters. I bet this also happens with gifts. You buy them before the celebration and see if they can find them before you get a chance to wrap them.

LOL these replies are great. But what do you mean your guinea pig won't "popcorn"?

I had guinea pigs, but they were just afraid of me. I spent a lot of time with them and tried to get them to feel comfortable with me.. but it never worked. They always ran away from me and hid. :(
