A noisy toy is placed in a glass jar. All the air is then slowly removed from the jar. How does this affect the sound you hear?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u will not be able to hear the sound. Actually u need medium to hear the sound if air is removed then it means that medium is removed:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the less dense the air the much time needs for air waves to reach your ears. After some time you will recognize that there will be some overlap between the toy's movement and the sound you hear caused by that movement. The synchronization will be over. At the end, you will not hear anything at all.
