An automobile maker has an order for 7,500 new cars to be delivered in one week. Each car must be fitted with a new hood ornament that requires 1 hour and 15 minutes to install. Assuming the factory operates on a standard workweek shift (8 hours per day for 5 days), how many workers must be assigned this job to meet the deadline?

If you only have a week to get this done, then you only have 40 hours to do this. Each ornament takes 1.25 hours to install, and you have 7500 cars to install these on, so you need a total of 9375 hours for this job. If we divide 9375 by 40, we see that we need 234.375 people - round that up to 235 since you can't have a part of a person working on the job. This assumes, of course, that the people that are working on this don't stop to take breaks for the entire 8 hour shift, and that there are no problems at all with the installation taken from another post....
