Im studying. I need someone to help me with inequalities

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im having trouble understanding how to solve these type of question x^2+2x-3>0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like when it has 3 numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u factor it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then please do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like for example 2x^2-5x-3<0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ur first example tho, can u factor it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know how to factor when theres a number before the variable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but there is almost always a number before the variable. are u sure you can't factor the first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 and -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not always its easier to factor x^2...... instead of 2x^2.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but what are the zeros of the first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x<3 x>-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

neither 3 nor -1 is a zero of the polynomial i think you got the signs backwards.
