Can someone help me with solving systems of linear equations by using matrices? My teacher expects us to learn this on our own! I don't even know what a matrix is!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what methods have you learned? Substitution? addition/subtraction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have literally learned nothing about this. I have no idea why my teacher expects us to teach ourselves! I have no idea about anything.

Is this for algebra?

if you have a system of equations, for example: 2x+3y=16 and 3x-3y=18 Then you can put them in matrix form by dropping off the variables of the coefficients. |dw:1382557872683:dw| are you allowed to use a calculator?
