MEDAL! Which of the following values are in the range of the function graphed below? Check all that apply. (Picture below.)

Would it be -1, 0, and 1?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

@marcoduuuh do you what the 'range' of a function is? Any idea at all?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where the line passes by?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Nope. 'Range', as the word suggests, is a list of all values this function (or its graph) can take. That is all values of 'y'. Now, which of -1,0 or 1 are present in the graph of the function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0 and 1?

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

I can see that red curve passing through y='1', and I can't see it anywhere near y=0. So, what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OOPS SORRY! Yeah, only 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer was 0 and 1. /:

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Haha! What? I tricked you c'mon - the curve touches y=0 at TWO points --> x=1 and x=-1 BOTH. You should have noticed this maaaan! (sorry for the tricky thing, I wanted you to understand this thing)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ughhhh i need to pay attention next time! Thanks for the help!
