Subtract 2 on both sides, you get 8d < 5d - 9 Now subtract 5d on both sides, you get 3d < -9 Now divide both sides by 3, you have d < -3

Yes... the left side is just 5s - 2 < 8 Add 2 to both sides, you get 5s < 10 Divide both sides by 2, you get s < 2
