plzzz help me Each rate of change is constant. find the rate of change and explain what it represents. 1. (3,1) 2. (2,70) (6,2) (4,140) (9,3) (6,210) (12,4) (8,280)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rate of change is the slope \[\frac{ \Delta y }{ \Delta x }\]. for example in the first list, the slope is 1/3. this means the y value changes 1/3 as fast as the x value does. could represent anything.. if tommy runs 3x as fast as billy, and you calculated their distances at varies points along a race, you might get a similar looking plot

im still confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in the first list, the x-values are always 3 times as much as the y values. x = 3y, or y = 1/3 x. your slope is then 1/3.

ohh I got it now
