in terms of molecules,bonds and energy what happens when a solid changes into a liquid?

in the solid form the molecules are attached to each other in away that hold them in the solid shape in order to convert it to liquid u use heat that makes the molecules will speed up untile they break apart and move around thats when the solid melts to liquid but still the the molecules are not free they pull on eachother to stay bunched. so the molecules are moving around the bonds are more weak to alow to the molecules to move free and the heat is required to break the bondes
