OpenStudy (frostbite):
NADH (the reduced formed of NAD) serve as electron donor into the electron transport chain, as we do not have electrons floating freely in our cells. Oxygen serve as a oxidizing agent and get reduced to water by Complex IV or cytochrome oxidase if like that name better.
