Obtuse or acute??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

based on the angle measurements.. I'm not sure. because two of them are less than 90 so it could be acute, but then you have the 120..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*I mean 130.. it's greater than 90 so wouldn't that be obtuse? :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

< is acute, anything 90 degrees or less is acute _/ is obtuse, anything 90 degrees or more is obtuse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So yeah obtuse :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ilmc1 so even though there are two angles less than 90 (acute) it still has the one greater than 90 so that makes it obtuse?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, that I do not know, sorry... XP

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

m< ABC is indeed obtuse.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@yamyam70 thank you.. i thought it would be acute at first because it has angles <20 and <22 which are less than 90. but then there is an angle <137 which is greater than 90. would it be obtuse or acute then?

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

The other two are acute.

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

@jcari you are correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that makes the entire triangle obtuse?

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@yamyam70 ah thank you! @ilmc1 that's alright thank you for helping me : )

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

and one more thing ,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anytime :)

OpenStudy (phi):

only 1 angle of a triangle can be bigger than 90... so you will always have at least 2 angles less than 90. If the biggest angle is bigger than 90 degrees, the triangle is obtuse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@phi good explanation, thanks!

OpenStudy (yamyam70):

total angle measure of a triangle is 180* , yeah and @phi explained it well :)
