what is the derivate of 4x^3 - 24x^2 + 36x ? is it 11x - 47 ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or what is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first derivative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is actually the first derivate... so Im trying to figure out the 2nd. Make sense? because I am confussed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a quick sanity check for a derivative is that it should always be one less power than the original function, so since you started with a cubic, you should end up with a quadratic.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would actually be 11x^2 - 47x ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the derivative of the first function is |dw:1382629176518:dw| You obtain this by using the power rule
