x^2+9x+14=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x + 7) ( x + 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2 ---> (x ) (x ) now find what two numbers can be multiplied and added to find 9 and 14 7 plus 2 = 9 7 times 2 = 14 (x + 7) (x + 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If that equation is = to 0 and you want the values of x, factorise it. To do that find a pair of numbers which + to make 9 and * to make 14. The answers being 7 and 2. Put it now in the form (x+7)(x+2)=0 Now you need to make either bracket = zero so the answer is = solving the equation. To do this make x cancel out the constant. So the answer is x = -2 or x = -7

is it x^2+9x+14 = 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or just x^2+9x+14?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its x^2+9x+14 and i have to factor the given polynomial

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then your answer is simply (x+2)(x+7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so its x^2 --- (x ) (x ) now find what two numbers can be multiplied and added to find 9 and 14 7 plus 2 = 9 7 times 2 = 14 (x + 7) (x + 2) <--- answer
