OpenStudy (esshotwired):

What are the TWO views of multiculturalism?

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

@e.mccormick @austinL

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

Would they be immigrants influencing the US and the US influencing immigrants?

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

I still don't get it.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

When you say "the two views" it makes it sound like this is going to be a specific reference from a particular source. Many people have different views on what multiculturalism is. Here is an academic reference to that: http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/multiculturalism/ So what you need to do is take a closer look at the references the class uses. Look for "two views" or "binary viewpoint" and so on.

Someone contacted me from school and told me the two views are the melting pot theory and salad bowl theory. Thank you for helping though!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Ah, yes! I know those. Melting pot being like how things mix together flavors and there is a blend that makes everything better. The salad bowl is things that are distinct and separate, only held together by being in the same bowl and covered by the same dressing. Covered that in minority relations.

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

Yup! I completely forgot about them in the lesson.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Hehe. Not like they stick out as being major things.
