factor 8x^3-36x^2+16x

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

start by taking 4x out as a common factor 4x(2x^2 -9x + 4) now just factor the quadratic hope this helps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you factor it for me too i need a good example please

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well here is a method that works for a quadratic \[ax^2 + bx + c\] multiply a and c in your question 2 and 4 = 8 find the factors of 8 that add to -9... there are both negative then complete the binomials (2x + factor1)(2x + fractor2) -------------------------- 2 one of the binomials will have a common factor that cancels with the denominator.. whats left is the factored quadratic.. hope that helps
