Ok. x^2-10x+24 As -6 and -4 are the factors which when added, give -10 and when multiplied, give +24 So, x^2-10x+24 = x^2-4x-6x+24 = x(x-4)-6(x-4) (Taking common from each pair) = (x-4) (x-6)
