PLEASE HELP!!! Sam and Dean own a peach orchard and jointly run a business selling jars of canned peaches. This year, they had a bumper crop and are planning to rent a commercial kitchen to speed up the canning process. The kitchen costs them $125 an hour to rent. Sam guesses the he will be able to produce 20 jars every 30minutes while Dean who is somewhat faster, estimates he should be able to produce 20 jars in just 20 minutes. If they work together, how long should it take the two of them to produce 500 jars?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so figure out how long each one can do in an hour so sam can do (wow this has supernatural names) 40 cans an hour and dean can do 60 jars an hour which is 100 jars an hour so how many hours will it take to do 500 jars :^)

(word problems are really easy for me :P)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(oh i am not. I am bad at them)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can help you with them to make them easier to understand :P did you get my first comment answering the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I did. it took about 4hrs to get 500 jars right? Please tell me i am right :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's 5 hours (: because 100 jars=1 hour 100*5=500 1*5=5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay. Thank you so much. I have another question that has to deal with the same work problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
